Today is the big release day for the third in the Old Los Angeles series – Death of the Chinese Field Hands. It was not an easy book to write, but I have to say that I’m pleased by how it came out.
The book starts with an actual event in Los Angeles history. On October 24, 1871, eighteen Chinese men were lynched during a riot. My character, physician and winemaker Maddie Wilcox, is of course, there, and initially thinks that’s the end of it. Especially since the three Chinese field hands that she has hired stay safely on her ranch. Until one of the hands is found strangled in her vineyard.

Now, back to work on the next book.
